Dynamic Lawn and Landscape started as nothing more than the high school business class project of two local young men. The students were challenged to develop a viable business plan - one based on research and documented consumer needs. In 1980, the lawn care industry was in its infancy and not a popular concept. Many of their classmates laughed at the idea of a professional lawn care service, but the two young men sensed opportunity. They took their classroom business plan and put it to the test. With only a little money and their parents’ lawn equipment, they started Dynamic Lawn. It wasn’t long before the company began to grow. As the young men’s business plan had documented, there was high demand for commercial lawn care services. One of their first large jobs included Pine Knob, now known as DTE Energy Music Theater. Residential clients hopped on board soon after, especially as dual family incomes became commonplace. Before long, clients requested other services such as lawn fertilization and landscape installation. By the mid-80’s, Dynamic Lawn expanded from a high school business plan into a full-service lawn and landscape company. And the company has continued to grow. The 1990’s building boom sparked an increased demand for Dynamic’s services and the company expanded their landscape design and installation capabilities.
